More About Marillac

From its origin as an orphan boys' home in 1897 to its evolution as a school for children with learning disabilities, today Marillac continues in the tradition of providing safety, security, and education to the hundreds of Kansas City children who call it home each year. Marillac offers a psychiatric hospital (the only of its kind in Johnson County, Kansas), residential treatment center, and therapeutic day school for children with special emotional or behavioral issues. We serve children up to age seventeen who have experienced abuse or neglect, family problems, difficulties in school, and/or behavioral problems.
